Associação Cultural Paidéia is mainly divided into two fields of action: Cia. Paidéia de Teatro and Paidéia Cidadã. The latter involves a wide variety of activities, partnerships and projects. Among those are Cia. Paidéia Jovem de Teatro, a theatre group composed of students from Paidéia developing a regular work and a repertoire of plays; Ponto de Cultura Paidéia Cidadã, a project involving workshops for teachers and the creation of a theatre library and a movie theatre; and our annual International Theatre Festival for Children and Youth - a Window to Utopia. Paidéia as a whole is driven toward the continuity and and further development of the work that has been developed through the years. This means the permanent transformation of Culture Collector´s Yard into a democratic space for artistic and cultural production aimed at the development of children and youth, having the theatre in the very center of this process. It also means involving the surrounding community in such processes, with debates and presentations of work being done, instigating the multiplication of similar iniciatives. All this aims at allowing the citizens to transform their daily life and being able to escape the many traps that cause the dissolution of meaning and the massification.
